Everyone holds what their work needs, before they start it.

Courses run in the classroom, online or on the job. Requirements are written as rules for each role, site and task, licences and tickets carry their own expiry and checks, and the workflow checks a worker's competence before they are allowed to do the job.

Works on its ownTraining and competency works on its own, so if it is all you need it is all you buy, and every other part of Obliwise stays optional.

What training and competency includes

Everything below comes with it, ready on the first day and yours to change. 14 capabilities

  • Requirements as rules

Who needs what training is written once as rules and kept current as people change roles and sites.

  • Licences and tickets

Licences, tickets and clearances are records with classes, conditions and expiry, checked wherever they matter.

  • Competency checks on workflows

Any step in any workflow can require current training before it goes ahead.

  • Worker safety passport

Each worker carries a passport of their training and credentials that they can share and a supervisor can check.

  • Courses delivered your way

Courses run face to face, online or blended, with attendance and sign-off.

  • Multi-step programs

Programs combine materials, assessments and practical steps in order, with a learner view that tracks progress.

  • Assessments of competence

Knowledge tests and observed practical assessments show what people can actually do.

  • Certificates anyone can check

Certificates are issued automatically and verified by anyone with a scan.

  • Prior learning recognised

Existing qualifications are recognised through a reviewed request instead of repeat training.

  • Renewals before expiry

Renewals are raised while training is still valid, so nobody drops out of date.

  • Certificates in bulk

A provider's batch of certificates lands on the right people in one reviewed pass.

  • E-learning content

SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 courses play in the platform and results can be sent to your own learning record store.

  • Reporting for training providers

Registered training providers produce their statutory reporting from the records they already keep.

  • Training on the phone

People complete their assigned courses and carry their certificates on the phone.

Worked example: a new operator on the crusher

A transfer from another site is rostered on to run the crusher next week.

  1. Step 1: The requirement is a rule

The crusher operator role requires the plant ticket, the site induction and a practical assessment.

  2. Step 2: Prior learning recognised

The operator's ticket from their last site is recorded and verified. Only the assessment is left.

  3. Step 3: Assessed on the job

A supervisor completes the practical assessment on a tablet at the plant, and the certificate is issued.

  4. Step 4: Checked before the shift

The workflow checks the operator's competence when they are assigned, and the renewal is booked before it lapses.
