Worked example: a spill at the wash bay

Step 1: Reported as an environmental incident
The spill is reported from a phone with photos, and the environmental impact questions are asked straight away.
Step 2: Obligations raised
The licence conditions for the site are checked, and the duty to notify is shown for a person to decide on.
Step 3: Waste tracked to disposal
The contaminated absorbent is recorded as a waste stream with its carrier and disposal record.
Step 4: Counted in the figures
The incident and the waste volume feed the monthly environmental figures and the annual ESG report.
