The right permit, approved in order, with the crew checked.
Every kind of work has its own permit type with its own questions, approvals and validity window. The crew's qualifications are checked before it is issued, isolations and gas tests are recorded, clashing work is flagged and the live board shows what is open right now.
Works on its ownPermits to work works on its own, so if it is all you need it is all you buy, and every other part of Obliwise stays optional.

Worked example: hot work in a plant room
A maintenance contractor needs to weld a bracket beside a fuel line.
Step 1: The permit type asks the right questions
The hot work permit asks for the fire watch, the extinguisher check and the isolation of the fuel supply.
Step 2: The crew is checked
The welder's licence and induction are checked when they are added. An expired ticket stops the permit going further.
Step 3: Approved in order
The area owner approves, then the maintenance manager. Any other work booked in the same room is flagged as a clash.
Step 4: Open, then closed
The permit shows on the live board while the work runs. The fire watch signs it off an hour after the work stops.
