Assets, plant and equipment
A register of the plant and equipment you are responsible for, with calibration, maintenance, defects and pre-start checks kept against each item.
What it does
One register of plant and equipment
Plant, tools and monitoring equipment in a single register, each with a reference, type, manufacturer, model, serial number, where it lives, when it was bought and what it cost. Condition and status are recorded on the item itself, where anyone who needs them can see them.
Calibration governance
Mark the equipment that must be calibrated and how often. The register shows the next calibration due for every item and filters down to just the equipment that needs one, so nothing is found to be out of calibration after the reading was taken.
Calibration certificates on the record
Record each calibration with the provider, the date, the result, the certificate number and the traceability reference, and mark the certificate as endorsed where it is. The certificate lives with the equipment it belongs to.
Your accredited providers
Keep the calibration providers your organisation uses, with their accreditation and contact details, and choose from that list when recording a calibration rather than retyping a name each time.
Maintenance, scheduled and completed
Schedule maintenance as a one off or on a repeating interval, record who performed it and what it cost, and mark it complete. Scheduled and completed work sit on the same tab so the history of an item is one list.
Defects logged against the equipment
Log a defect against an item with the severity and when it was discovered, and follow it through to resolution. The defect history stays with the equipment even after it is retired from active use.
Pre-start checks that raise the defect for you
The pre-start check identifies the equipment and the operator, walks the condition items, and ends on a go or no-go. A no-go raises a defect against that item of plant automatically, and where the equipment entered cannot be matched to a record, an action is raised naming exactly what was typed.
Out of service, recorded and visible
Take an item out of service with a reason. Everyone who opens the record sees that it is out of service, since when and why, and it cannot be put back to an operational status until somebody deliberately returns it to service.
How it fits with the rest
Equipment is the thing other records point at. A pre-start check completed on a phone names the plant being used and its verdict lands on that item. Inspections and scheduled programs can be run against equipment the same way they are run against a workplace. Defects and overdue maintenance become actions with owners and due dates, in the same work list as everything else.
The register shares the same locations, projects, business units and people as the rest of the platform, so an item of plant can be found by where it is or who is accountable for it without a second list to keep in step. Calibration status feeds the work that depends on it, which matters most where a reading taken with uncalibrated equipment would have to be taken again.
Ready-made content
The pre-start pack installs a complete pre-start check and the workflow behind it: identifying the equipment and operator, the external and fluid checks, lights and warning devices, the items that are specific to the equipment type, whether faults were found, and a final go or no-go. The workflow then carries a faulty item through quarantine, maintenance and either a return to service or retirement, and a pre-start record can be produced as a PDF.
The inspection packs add checklists that can be run against equipment as well as places, and the equipment types, conditions, maintenance types and defect severities are lists your organisation owns. Your own team can change the checks, or ask us to build them with you from the ones you use today.
